About
We provide lifelong sanctuary for farmed animals with a commitment that mothers stay with their babies whenever possible. Every animal here is family, not food.
Our Approach
- No breeding, selling or butchering—ever.
- We rescue animals from harmful circumstances and give them a safe, loving home, either here at Buster’s Barn or through vetted placement in a forever home.
- Our 5 acre sanctuary in the Antelope Valley offers peace and space for cows, pigs, goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas, emus, chickens, roosters, peacocks, dogs & cats.
- Animals are never asked to perform or serve as exhibits. This is their home, not a petting zoo. Many of our rescues were mistreated or terrorized by humans therefore we never “force” visitors on them.
Our Impact
Since 2012, when we began as a dog rescue, and then in 2014 where we transitioned to farm animals, we have taken part in saving hundreds of lives —many as mothers with their babies. Through our continued efforts, we intervene for animals headed to slaughter, or suffer from neglect and abandonment.
Where It Began
We heard the call to start rescuing animals in 2012 with our first beloved pig, Buster, and we haven’t looked back. On Valentine’s Day 2014, we rescued Phoebe and her newborn calf Apollo. (We had to go back for her adopted son Panda)
A year later, Sky and her calf Cloud joined us, followed by Sky’s sister Sun. Soon after, Ginger the Yorkshire pig arrived pregnant and gave birth to nine healthy piglets—a milestone that showed us the power of wholistic animal sanctuary.
Today, nestled against the Angeles Forest and surrounded by rolling hills, we care for a diverse family of animals. Each has a name and a personality as unique as their story. Here, they are friends, not food.
